We regret that King Charles VIII of France did not get the chance to pen his thoughts on our luxury 4 Star Vatican hotel before his invasion of Naples.This hotel lives and breathes history – it’s a historical monument in itself! The rooms are where historical figures actually slept hundreds of years ago, there are original masterpieces that are older than the USA, there are fountains with crests on them from the famous figures through history that came here! For anyone crazy for some history this hotel is incredible!

I stayed at the beautiful Hotel Columbus spring just gone with my family and I’d just like to say that this hotel is one of the best I’ve ever come across. As it occupies an historical building, it seems that there is no respite from the history that seeps from every crevice of every street in this amazing city. Whether inside or out, the feeling this place gives, and when I say this place I intend all of it from the Vatican to the river and beyond –and that includes inside the hotel, which is 100% as spellbindingly beautiful as most of the city itself, is one of immersion in a bygone era.

Hotel Columbus is a 4 Star in a historical building literally in the shadow of St Peter’s Basilica Cathedral. For location and quality it is simply unbeatable - right on the main drag that leads from the front of St Peter’s, walking around the hotel behind the thick stone medieval walls is as if you’re walking around inside the Vatican itself. Read the history of this place and see for yourself. In a way, it’s slightly tragic that this place has been turned into a hotel. The restaurant is pretty special too and the service was nothing short of impeccable. If you have the means, this place is the business.
